Fun History Facts
Founded in 1874, Gamma Phi Beta is one of the 10 oldest women's organizations in the United States!

Gamma Phi Beta is one of the seven founding members of the National Panhellenic Council in 1902.

In 1882, Dr. Smalley coined the word "sorority" specifically for Gamma Phi Beta; many other women's organizations are known as "women's fraternities".
